Ms. Maria Sunér is since 2019 the CEO of Svemin, the Swedish Association for Mines, Mineral and Metal Producers. Ms Sunér has a profound background from the business and energy sectors, and has held several positions at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, as well as for the Swedish Association of Energy producers. She has also worked for the Worldbank and the energy company Eon. Ms Sunér holds a M.Sc. in Chemical engineering, is a honorary member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Engineering, vice chair of EIT Raw Materials as well as member of the Executive Committee of Euromines.

She has served as Secretary General of Norsk Bergindustri (Norwegian Mineral Industry) since May 2018. She has built up a new organization. Hall has built up a new organization, focused on the future for the mineral industry in Norway. Not least, this involves a broad effort to help the industry improve framework conditions as well as to become more sustainable and environmentally focused

Pekka Suomela was appointed Executive Director of the Finnish Mining Association FinnMin in April 2012. Based in Helsinki, FinnMin is the national organisation for the Finnish mining cluster. Its members are engaged in mining, mineral exploration, mining equipment, and technology. Previously, since 2007, he worked for the Ministry of Employment and Economy as the Chief Inspector of Mines. Mr. Suomela has gathered broad experience in mineral policy issues. He holds over 20 years of professional experience. He is a Master of Law from the University of Helsinki, Finland, 1989.
