Fredrik Hassel is a Senior Advisor, at Saab. Before this assignment he served as Deputy Director General at The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority from 2007 to 2019. Prior to this, he served as Head of Staff at the Swedish Emergency Management Agency from 2001 to 2007. Mr. Hassel has also served as political Advisor to the Minister for Defence in Sweden between 1999 and 2001.
Mr. Hassel was appointed by the Government as an expert to the Swedish Defence Commission between 2002 until 2007. He has several times been appointed to different governmental investigations as an expert, including being appointed to represent Sweden in different international fora’s such as IAEA and EU.
Last year he was appointed member of the external expert group supporting the Swedish Government in its work to develop a new National Security Strategy
Mr. Hassel has a military degree and served as an infantry officer, Company Commander
